116th birthday of Pier Giorgio
Dear Friends,
The 6th of April is approaching, the 116th birthday of Pier Giorgio, and as is now customary every year we would not want this date to pass without preparing a gift which we can give him together.
You may know that this year marks the 100th anniversary of Our Lady’s apparition in Fatima, where she called upon all of her children to renew their devotion to the Rosary. We all know that the Rosary was loved and shared with others by Pier Giorgio. One day a friend who saw him leave a church, with the Rosary still in his hand asked him, “Pier Giorgio, have you become a religious bigot?” “No, he replied, I remained a Christian!” When he was 17 years old he felt the need to enroll himself in the Confraternity of the Rosary in Pollone.
The invitation which we are extending to you is this:
On Thursday, April 6th of this year, let us unite together, possibly at the same time (between 3:00 and 8:00 p.m.), in a bond which is not material with Pier Giorgio, reciting the Luminous Mysteries. A simple guide prepared for the occasion will help us to pray together with the same words and with one heart.
